Design A Dress

Wonder how gowns are made? Want to showcase your body in a design that fits your style? Work from scratch or adapt a dress you already own in this self-paced class. The Design a Dress workshop is comprised of ten 3- hour sessions where you have access to the tools and talents in dress construction. Anyone from novice to accomplished seamstress can construct a gown that will be as unique as the lady wearing it.

Class sizes are small - from 1 to 5 students, giving you the best personal attention and include sessions in:

Determining measurements	Fittings
Pattern design	Hand Finish Sewing
A shopping trip to select fabric	Finishing Touches - beadwork and crystals
Cutting and design alterations	Accessorizing the ensemble
Machine Sewing and Zipper installation - Serger machine

Pattern cutting begins - the dress shape begins to reveal itself. Although a machine is primarily used, some details must be hand sewn. Swarovski crystals shine the brightest. Here the details are begin placed for hand sewing. Students enjoy the friendships they build as much as the dresses. Join us!

Classes are held each Saturday afternoon at Studio S. You have six months in which to complete the ten sessions. The Design A Dress class is $300.00 for ten sessions plus the cost of fabrics, notions, and adornments.
